Rovaniemi à la carte

Rovaniemi is the capital of Lapland. It's a small university city with 35.000 inhabitants. Due to it's location near the Arctic Circle and Santa Claus Village, it's a the most popular place of Lapland. The airport is only a 10-minute drive from the city center.

* Wilderness safari (2pm-4pm): 109 euro pp (sharing a snowmobile) or 166 euro pp (single snowmobile). 2-hour snowmobile safari near Rovaniemi.

* Santa Claus Safari (10am-4pm): 197 euro pp (sharing a snowmobile) or 240 euro (single snowmobile). Departure by snowmobile from Rovaniemi, visit to the reindeer farm & short ride on a sledge. Arctic Circle Crossing Ceremony. Departure by car for lunch and continue to Santa Claus Village.

* Legend of the Four Winds (10am-1pm): 142 euro pp (sharing a snowmobile) or 185 euro pp (single snowmobile). 3-hour snowmobile safari including a visit to the reindeer farm, short ride on a sledge and the Arctic Circle Crossing Ceremony.

* Arctic Speed (10.30am-1.30pm): 141 euro pp (sharing a snowmobile) or 184 euro pp (single snowmobile). 3-hour snowmobile safari with visit to the Husky Farm an a short ride (800 m) on a Huskysledge (2 persons per sledge).

* Fishing Experience (9.30am-1pm): 122 euro pp (sharing a snowmobile) or 165 euro pp (single snowmobile). Ride on a snowmobile to a wilderness lake for some traditional ice fishing.

* Arctic Combination (11.15am-1.15pm): 146 euro pp. Excursion by car to the reindeer and Husky farm. Short ride on a reindeer and Husky sledge at both locations.

* In the Heart of Nature (11am-4pm): 192 euro pp (sharing a snowmobile) or 278 euro pp (single snowmobile). This is the longest individual snowmobile safari. You will stop for a walk on snowshoes and an attempt for ice fishing. Lunch is included. This safari is an adult only safari.

* Search for the Northern Lights (6pm-9pm): 127 euro pp (sharing a snowmobile) or 160 euro pp (single snowmobile). Experience the Arctic night by driving through the snow-covered forest and on the frozen river. Perhaps the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) will appear to show you the way. Beverages and a snack are served by a campfire.

* Ranua Wildlife Park (11am-4pm): 138 euro pp. Visit by car to the northermost zoo in the world, located 80 km from Rovaniemi. Lunch is included.

* Reindeer Safari (2pm-4.30pm or 6pm-8.30pm): 124 euro pp. Transport by car to the reindeer farm for the reindeer safari. Enjoy a hot cup of coffee around a campfire and learn about the life of reindeer herders.

* Husky Safari (departure 9.30am or 1.30pm): 148 euro pp. Excursion by car to the Husky Farm. Before departure on the safari, you will be instructed how to control the sledge. Enjoy some hot berry juice or coffee by an open fire.

* Cross Country Skiing (10am-1pm): 68 euro pp. Learn skiing from a Finnish skiing instructor. A ski tour through the silent white forest with a break for hot beverages by a campfire.

* Moonlight Walk on Snowshoes (6pm-9pm): 77 euro pp. Capture the true feeling of a winter night in the northern woods. Experience how the milky light of the moon and stars cast enchanting shadows through the snowfields. Have a break by an open fire an enjoy some snacks and hot coffee or juice.

* Sampo Icebreaker Cruis (8.45am-6pm*): 440 euro pp, min. 2 persons. Day excursion from Rovanimei to Kemi for the Sampo icebreaker cruise. Included are the transfers, de cruise, lunch and ice swimming. Fom January 30 2011 it also includes a visit to the Kemi Icehotel. *Timing can be slightly different at some dates.
